- Annex SL
- The high-level structure shared across ISO management system standards, ensuring common clauses, terminology, and core text.
- Context of the organization
- The combination of internal and external issues that can affect an organization's approach to its products, services, and stakeholders.
- Documented information
- Information required to be controlled and maintained — replaces the older terms 'documents' and 'records'.
- Interested party
- Person or organization that can affect, be affected by, or perceive itself to be affected by a decision or activity.
- Risk-based thinking
- An approach that uses risk and opportunity to drive planning, resource allocation, and decision making across the QMS.
- QMS
- Quality Management System — the set of interrelated processes used to direct and control an organization with regard to quality.
- ISO/TC 176
- The ISO Technical Committee responsible for quality management and quality assurance standards, including ISO 9001.
- IAF
- International Accreditation Forum — defines the transition policy that certification bodies follow when standards are revised.
